Overview
A company is seeking a freelance Visual & Motion Designer to help bring the 2024 Impact Report to life. This is a high-visibility project with a tight turnaround aiming to launch by June 4, with final deliverables due by May 19. You'll be working closely with a small, fast-moving internal comms team, aiming to feel like a true extension of the in-house creatives.
We're not looking for an order taker. We’re looking for someone who can pitch visual ideas, collaborate closely, and execute at a high level—across both static and motion design.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and animation for two seamless-loop hero visuals embedded in the report (slide-based navigation, full-bleed video format)
- Collaborate on data visualizations—including animated or reactive charts (e.g., bar charts, stacked columns)
- Design dynamic maps (e.g., office expansion with pin drops)
- Create motion assets that reflect key themes (e.g., growth, resilience, scale) using provided copy and data
- Present rough mock-ups for stakeholder feedback and iterate accordingly
- Ensure all design aligns with brand guidelines
Ideal Candidate
- Strong background in motion design, animation, and data visualization
- Fluent in Figma, After Effects, or equivalent motion tools
- Ability to work end-to-end: conceptualize, pitch, and execute
- Agency background or experience working in-house with enterprise clients preferred
- Bonus: Ability to code lightweight dynamic charts or collaborate with developers to implement
Tools & Tech
- Work will be embedded within an existing Figma prototype and shared asset library
- Deliverables will be handed off in formats suitable for embedding in web-based annual reports (HTML5 loops, videos, or lightweight animations)
Future Work
This could evolve into a longer-term working relationship supporting:
- Design for milestone announcements
- Evergreen social content
- New project creative
The initial project is a total of 100-125 hours with a fast turn around.
