Description

We're seeking a talented full-stack developer to enhance and scale an iOS wine recommendation app. This is a passion project currently in TestFlight that uses AI to provide personalized wine recommendations based on user taste profiles—solving a gap in existing wine apps. You'll work closely with the founder to optimize AI functionality, refine UX/UI, and add new features integrating third-party APIs. This role requires not just technical execution, but strategic thinking: you'll provide feedback, suggest improvements, and act as a true partner who understands consumer behavior and can challenge assumptions to help shape the product vision. The ideal candidate is based in North America (or willing to work North American hours), has proven experience with React, Supabase, Vercel, and LLM integration (OpenAI), and brings a strong UI/UX mindset. You should be comfortable troubleshooting as the app scales and adapting your involvement based on evolving needs.

Responsibilities

Optimize AI/LLM functionality across the iOS app to improve recommendation accuracy and performance
Refine and enhance UX/UI design to create an intuitive, delightful user experience
Develop and integrate new features using third-party APIs
Provide proactive feedback and strategic suggestions to improve product design and functionality
Troubleshoot and resolve issues as the app scales and user base grows
Serve as a collaborative thought partner, not just a technician—research industry context and consumer behavior to inform recommendations
Maintain code quality and document work for long-term maintainability
