Inspired by living in a developing nation, I design accessible experiences by using research to solve problems and meet business goals. I have collaborated with teams across industries including tech, healthcare, insurance, and consumer goods; to create solutions that produce measurable results. I am currently studying Global Business and Digital Arts at The University of Waterloo, where I hope to gain more ways to tackle the problems of today, and the future.

UX & Visual Designer

FreelanceJun 2017 - Present • 7 yrs 3 mosHighlights: Built a Shopify e-commerce channel for a luxury fragrance retailer in Tanzania. The store is in the top 5% of stores launched that week with an average SEO ranking of 6.1 and 150k+ views per month on social media. Designed the website and digital strategy for the leading audiology clinic in Tanzania that lead to a 623% increase in marketing ROI, a website search click rate of 6.04%, and 92.9% organic web traffic. Established the identity system of Africas first voucher-based micro-insurance covers, Bima Vocha. The project was nominated for Most innovative Insurance Product in Tanzania in 2019 with over 12,000 clients and beneficiaries in the first 9 months. Shortlisted from 120 logo submissions for Urithi Festival organized by The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in 2018 to celebrate the nations cultural diversity across the country. Led a team of fourteen students to design the 2018-2019 Aga Khan Mzizma Secondary School Yearbook, which was distributed to 650+ students. Created Community Snapchat Filters for Tanzania, which have over 7.4 million views and 80,000 activations.

METL (Mohammed Enterprises LimitedJun 2019 - Jul 2019 • 2 mosDesigned and prototyped 11+ wireframes and interactive mockups, and an operations strategy for a Beverage Loyalty Program through the use of a USSD mobile platform. Deliverables were handed over for further implementation. Collaboratively researched Below The Line and Above the Line methods to develop marketing strategies for the MO Soap Line, MO ELECTRO, and Simba Football Club. Created Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD) bottle labels and print material for MO Extra, a newly launched CSD Beverage. Finalized work was featured in press media. Directed Behind the Curtain, short videos which gained 20,000+ views, that spread awareness of stigmatized topics on social media.

Beem AfricaJun 2021 - Aug 2021 • 3 mosObjective: Determine how Beem, an omni-channel communications platform, could better serve small-to-medium businesses in Tanzania. Results: Conducted ideation sessions, stakeholder interviews, UX audits, and developer hand-off. This resulted in: The implementation of a design system with 600+ components, creation of an omni-channel support product, redesign of the Beem platform to focus on user goals, and launch of a customer support chatbot for a major television provider.
