A Freelance Product & UI/UX Designer fostering growth for small businesses and start ups.
With a profound passion for designing solutions that create positive social impact, I find immense joy in collaborating with others and witnessing the transformative power of my work seamlessly integrating into society. With a background in Social Work and case management, I bring valuable insights into the profound impact that poorly designed products can have on individuals' access to essential resources through technology. This experience has cultivated my deep commitment to creating accessible user experiences every step of the way. I am particularly passionate about tackling the challenges posed by varying levels of technology literacy and ensuring that my designs cater to the diverse needs of our users.

Projects

PASS-UX Research

Background: PASS is an innovative product currently in development by the dedicated team at Code For PDX, a Portland-based non-profit organization committed to advancing civic technology. Inspired by our sponsor, who has worked closely with local officials to identify a significant gap in our community's resources, PASS is being meticulously crafted to offer a unique and effective solution. What sets PASS apart from other similar products launched in various cities is our use of SOLID, a Web 3 development tool that enables secure data storage in decentralized data stores called Pods. Essentially, Pods act as secure personal web servers for data, giving users full control over who and what can access their stored data. This innovative technical solution will help elevate PASS to new heights in terms of data security and accessibility. Problem: People experiencing housing insecurity often face loss of important documents due to constant moving, unsafe housing situations, and homelessness. The safety and security of those documents being jeopardized due to their circumstances leads to denial or postponement of housing services. Thus perpetuating housing insecurity. How can we create a safe document sharing and storage system that allows for a quicker and more streamlined access to housing services for people experiencing housing insecurity? Our Team: Our design team consists of 4 UX/Product Designers and 1 UX researcher with backgrounds in economic development, social work, customer service, marketing and healthcare tech. We also work closely with 5 software engineers on our development team, 3 project managers, and our product advisor. My role: Was leading this team through UX research and strategy development.See More

Mirror- E-commerce Fashion Website

Problem: Mirror, a well-established fashion brand, has been operating successfully for the past 25 years with physical stores only. Due to the limitations of their brick-and-mortar presence, the brand was unable to reach out to a wider customer base. Therefore, they were looking to venture into the online market to expand their business and cater to the needs of their customers who prefer to shop online. How can we design a user-friendly online platform that retains the brand identity and delivers an exceptional customer experience? Solution: End to end responsive web design. My Role: Sole UX Designer Branding, Prototyping, Usability Testing My Tools: Figma, Figjam, Miro, Optimal WorkshopSee More

Evergreen-Case Management Tool for Social Workers

Problem: Case Managers in the Social Work field often struggle to keep up with the high volume of cases they are given and data entry/management. What if there was a customizable tracking tool to increase the ability to manage a high volume of cases, assist with data management, and increase case progress communication to their team? Solution: An end to end responsive design. Inspiration: This project was inspired by the lived experiences and struggles of my co-worker and I back when I was in the Social Work field. Out struggles as case managers fueled me to design a simple client tracking sheet in Microsoft Excel to assist us in handling a high volume of rent assistance cases. This led me to create an actual product based off of my initial design. My Role: UX Designer Visual Design, UX Research, Usability Testing My Tools : Figma, Whimsical, MiroSee More
