Incoming Master's Student in Community and Regional Planning | Cartography Expert | Data Analyst | Urban & Environmental Geographer
I am a geographer, with a background in sustainability and urban advocacy for the city of Austin and at the University of Texas at Austin. In my most recent role as a geography undergraduate, I used sociodemographic data to map hotspots of food deserts at the county level in Texas and evaluated how statistically significant they were. Combining my passion for design and cartography, I aim to use my skills to become a consultant in the planning field. A fun fact about me is that I love to cook budget-friendly healthy vegetarian meals!

Spatial Outliers Map

This map displays the spatial outliers of the percentage of people with college degrees at the county level that I made. One significant finding is that when we localize using spatial autocorrelation methods, we get a more accurate understanding of the percentages of college graduates in the United States.See More

Food Desert Map

These maps were the result of my research question: Where are hot spots of food deserts in the state of Texas at the county level in 2015? The variables I tested were: Households with no car and low access to store %, 2015, and Low income and low access to store %, 2015. Overall, I found that there were noticeable hotspots in the southern and western parts of Texas and LLs located near more urban areas. See More
