Carleton UniversityJan 2021 - Mar 2021 • 3 mos Teamed up with three students to perform exact kinematic algebraic synthesis of the crank-piston mechanism to determine the link lengths required to generate a desired function between the input rotary link and output slider of the mechanism Created an animation of the mechanism on Simscape that incorporates the derived link lengths to visualize the relative motion of the bars Assembled a cardboard model of the Simscape animation to demonstrate to the Professor, all assembly and working modes of the mechanism Formulated a report detailing the design process, showing the IO and Coupler curves, and stating the appropriate choice of actuator for the four-bar mechanismG
