End-to-end development process design and team structure

Collaborated with the Head of Design and VP of Engineering to define an end-to-end feature development process. This process allowed for multiple product squads to operate and progress towards the completion of features on roadmaps contributing to the overall product strategy. Teams were given autonomy to work in different styles, while retaining an overall structure. This increased reliability in shipping processes. Migrate from low-code, read only website to full stack ruby on rails application.

Tropic originally used Airtable as a database, passing date to a Postgres database which was then displayed in a readonly Node.js web application. I lead the project to transform the original setup to a full stack ruby on rails application. In addition to designing and building the platform in a new tech stack, this project also required data and customer migrations (coordinated with the sales and customer success teams). See More

Search engine for news, social posts and journalists

Scrape 100s of thousands of websites for news content, ingest tweets and use machine learning to identify authors. All content was then indexed in an Elasticsearch cluster. This allowed for searching to identify when news was published and who the authored it. See More

Workflow software for procurement process

Built an abstract platform to map the tasks that occur for companies when purchasing software. This allows organizations to assign tasks to users, for tasks to appear in a specific order based on the requirements of the purchase and ensured compliance throughout the purchasing process. See More

When joining Tropic, there were 10 employees. A vast majority of employees were focused on delivering professional services. I worked with the CEO and COO to establish a 6, 12 and 18 month company strategy.
