Mapping Queens

The project "Mapping Jazz and Hip-Hop in Queens" aimed to build upon the existing Queens Jazz Trail Map and Louis Armstrong Archives by conducting interviews and research to locate the homes of jazz and hip-hop artists associated with Queens. The project also explored the connections and relationships between these artists, including their neighborhoods, family and friendship ties, and listening and sampling patterns. We collaborated with jazz and hip-hop historians, artists, and practitioners to document the oral history of these art forms in Queens. The project culminated in an interactive digital map, making this valuable knowledge accessible to the public.See More
