Inspired by the theme of space and Afro-futurism, Jessica utilized her expertise in digital illustration to craft a captivating scene featuring five individuals adorned in afro-futuristic attire set against a cosmic backdrop. The lead on the project expressed admiration for Jessica's initial design, but requested revisions to ensure greater representation and inclusivity, particularly regarding body diversity. With agility and sensitivity, Jessica promptly incorporated the feedback, enriching the illustration with a broader spectrum of body types. The resulting artwork serves as the cover for the journal, inviting survivors to explore their thoughts, emotions, and healing processes. Dee Marksman-Phillpotts, the author of the journal, emphasizes its significance as a sanctuary for weary minds, offering solace, reflection, and a platform for dialogue.See More
