Kat Manor

I'm the sole artist and designer behind Katdog Design, a small but mighty studio in the Twin Cities area. With a BFA in Graphic Design and over a decade of experience, I specialize in building and extending brand identities and creating illustrations that connect with your audience. My work spans various industries, including food, wellness, cannabis, agriculture, and tech, with expertise in packaging, merchandise, websites, patterns, murals, and more. When I'm not creating, you'll find me in St. Paul with my husband, our energetic dog, and our quirky pet pig, enjoying board games, sci-fi marathons, or the great outdoors.

Fern City Greenhouse Brand Identity

Cultivating a fascination for ferns. The Scope: Brand Identity Illustration Mural Signage Merchandise Pattern The Opportunity: Fern City Greenhouse had a strong love for ferns but lacked a cohesive brand identity that could effectively communicate this passion to their customers. The existing branding and signage were generic, failing to capture the unique vibe of the shop. This disconnect made it challenging for customers to fully engage and recognize the shop's specialty. The Solution: Through custom illustrations, I brought the shop's leafy obsession to life, crafting a visual language that was both playful and sophisticated. The pattern designs and mural further enriched the shop's atmosphere, while the branded merchandise added a delightful keepsake that customers could take home with them. The result was a cohesive brand identity that not only captured the essence of Fern City Greenhouse but also resonated deeply with their target audience. The shop now stands out as a unique, must-visit destination for fern enthusiasts, with a brand presence as vibrant and distinctive as the plants they sell.See More

Meadowsong Studios Brand Identity & Website

Capturing the essence of a nature-forward art studio The Scope: Brand Identity Website Illustration Merchandise Pattern The Opportunity: Meadowsong Studios, nestled in the serene countryside of Wisconsin, is a nature-forward art studio with a deep connection to its environment. However, the studio's existing brand identity lacked the creativity and individuality that it fosters. The website, branding, and overall visual elements were outdated, failing to convey the studio's unique artistic approach, which made it challenging to attract and engage with the right audience. The Solution: I revitalized Meadowsong Studios' branding, starting with the logo. A few refinements went a long way. The new website design was crafted to be visually inviting and user-friendly, immersing visitors in the creative spirit of the studio. Custom illustrations and pattern designs were integrated throughout the brand, bringing a sense of the natural Midwest countryside into every visual element. The custom brand illustration extended this connection, offering t-shirts that customers could take home, serving as both art and memento. With a brand refresh, the studio has established itself as a haven for nature-inspired art lovers.See More

Wayforth Brand Identity & Website

Paving the way for a new kind of healthcare that supports our elders. The Scope: Brand Identity Website Print Materials Pattern The Opportunity: The geriatric home care business was dedicated to providing compassionate and specialized care to older patients facing serious health and life challenges. However, their existing brand identity lacked the warmth, trustworthiness, and professionalism needed to connect with their audience. The company’s website and print materials were outdated and failed to convey the quality and personalized care they offered, making it difficult to stand out in a competitive healthcare market. The Solution: I developed a comprehensive branding strategy that communicated the company’s commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. The new brand identity included inviting colors and thoughtful design elements, creating a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere. Pattern designs were incorporated to add an engaging yet effective visual consistency across all touchpoints. The website was completely redesigned to be both accessible, informative, and modern offering an easy-to-navigate experience for patients and their families. The result was a cohesive and professional brand identity that enhanced the company’s reputation as a trusted provider of geriatric home care, helping them connect more deeply with their audience.See More

Enhancing an organic ingredient meal delivery company for max impact. The Scope: Brand Uplift Packaging Website Merchandise Print Materials The Opportunity: Simpls, an organic food company, specializing in delivering locally sourced and prepared frozen meals, had a strong commitment to quality and sustainability. Yet, their existing brand identity appeared homemade and DIY, which didn’t fully reflect the premium nature of their products or their target consumer. The outdated website and packaging further contributed to a perception that didn’t match the high-quality, gourmet experience the company aimed to offer. The Solution: The new branding introduced a clean, modern aesthetic with organic shapes and refined typography, creating a look that was both professional and inviting. The website was redesigned to be visually appealing and easy to navigate, enhancing the online shopping experience with mouth-watering imagery and straightforward functionality.
