A little back story about me, as an immigrant from Ethiopia who moved to the United States in 2012, I can relate to the challenges and opportunities of adjusting to life in a new country. When I first arrived, I struggled with language barriers and cultural differences, and it was difficult to navigate everyday tasks such as shopping or communicating with others.
But despite these challenges, I was also struck by the kindness and generosity of the people I met. I was welcomed into my community and received help and support from my neighbors, friends, and even strangers. This made a huge difference in my ability to settle into my new home and feel a sense of belonging.
