Strategic Senior-Level Designer Specializing in Brand, Product, and Marketing Design

I’m Monica Cottingham, a multidisciplinary designer with 9+ years of experience across brand marketing, UX and product design. I help startups, agencies, and in-house teams bring clarity and cohesion to their creative output.

Projects

Cordial Visual Product System

I led the creative design for Cordial’s product visual system, creating a unified look to clearly communicate the platform and its marketing channels. After Cordial’s 2022 rebrand focused on humanizing customer data, we needed simple, trustworthy visuals to explain complex features and build confidence with potential clients. I developed a cohesive design system and UI components that make the platform easier to understand and use, balancing clarity with strong, on-brand visuals that support Cordial’s goals.See More

NuVasive Marketing & Resources

I joined NuVasive in 2018 to help elevate their medical device brand by refining and expanding on their existing rebrand. Focusing on creative differentiation, I applied fresh thinking across packaging, long-form content, and campaigns to better showcase their minimally invasive spine surgery solutions. My work helped bring consistency and impact to the brand’s visual expression while supporting patient-focused messaging and business goals.See More

Cordial Bodega

I led the design for Cordial Bodega, an immersive brand experience created for Shoptalk 2025 in partnership with Astound Group. Inspired by a New York corner store, the activation broke trade show norms to showcase Cordial’s personal, fun, and scalable approach to marketing. The experience helped position Cordial as a creative, collaborative partner and drove a strong increase in qualified leads and engagement across sales and marketing channels.See More

NuVasive Spine Foundation Rebrand

I led the rebrand of the NuVasive Spine Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing spine surgery, training, and technology to under-resourced communities. The goal was to refresh the visual identity to increase awareness and encourage more participation. By redefining the brand look and creating accessible design templates, I helped the foundation strengthen its impact and reach more people who can benefit from its life-changing work.See More
