I'm a self-taught designer & illustrator, using color & humor with a dash of nostalgia to find connection & community.
Hiya! I'm a fat, queer, multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on illustration/graphic design, fiber art, and theatre work in Chicago. The focus of my work centers on storytelling through color, humor, differing perspectives of nostalgia, self-love/acceptance, and the communal experiences that shape us into who we are.

Projects

Fighting Words Festival, Babes With Blades

Babes With Blades Theatre Company needed graphics for their 2023 Fighting Words Festival, where three new scripts are given staged readings over two weekends. BWBTC needed social media materials and a 24x36 poster for the theater’s lobby (shown above) that included original graphics for each play designed within the company’s style guide.See More

Pronoun Statistics

I have a lot of trans and non-binary lovelies in my life. All the anti-trans bills being proposed/made into laws and the misuse of pronouns these days weigh heavy on my heart. I wanted to do a series of facts and statistics that focus on how simply showing support and affirmation to the lgbtq+ community saves lives. Literally. When I think of examples of support I automatically picture Mr. Rogers and how he always liked us just the way we are. I did a couple of different sets of graphics (one featuring King Friday’s castle and another with cardigans), but neither quite conveyed the supportive factor I was going for. I think the simplicity of this series is more effective and it’s still related to Mr. Rogers as it’s the color palette from the walkway in King Friday’s kingdom. These statistics were compiled from The Trevor Project, Planned Parenthood, and the Human Rights Campaign.See More

Photo editing and manipulation have become some of my favorite mediums. Figuring out and experimenting with different techniques to blend and make an image pop is so satisfying. Check out my website for the full collection!See More

This is a personal project where I've taken selections from a list of imaginary band names I've collected over the years and created album covers for each one. Tgive a gander to the whole collection on my website!See More

Vegecation! Branding

Years ago I was a big fan of Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel. I loved the mix of travel, food, and the fun vibe the show accomplished. The only problem was the food portion of the show was very meat heavy and I’m a vegetarian. I couldn’t help but visualize hosting a travel show with the same energy as Man Vs. Food, but with a focus on vegetarian cuisine. That premise was the jumping-off point for this branding guide; a vegetarian travel show that was fun, silly, and engaging. The preliminary sketch for the main logo started with a hand-drawn, soft/rounded “V” to signify the vegetarian aspect of the program without relying on a food icon. Coupled with the single letter is a simple plane icon to convey the travel portion of the series and that this program is intended for independent, fun-loving, and adventurous adults. I created three logo options in duo color palettes to communicate the plant-based aspect with a touch of whimsy and nostalgia that a person can feel from traveling.See More
