Graphic & Visual Storyteller
I am a designer who uses the power of visual storytelling to create memorable and impactful experiences. My work is characterised by a deep understanding of narrative structure, combined with a strong sense of visual aesthetics. I am not just a graphic designer; I am a storyteller who uses design as my medium. My visual style is adaptable, yet consistently focused on enhancing the narrative. I use bold, striking visuals when the story calls for it, and the subtle nuanced designs when the message is more delicate. Typography, colour schemes, and layouts are carefully chosen to complement and elevate the story being told.

This board game satirises the barriers faced by marginalised authors in the publishing industry. It uses common reasons why their manuscripts or ideas get rejected and gives players an insight into how a marginalised author has already lost the game before they have even stepped into the market. Players have to collect Idea Tokens and exchange them to publish as many books as they can before they reach the end of the path. They can try their luck by posting TikToks to gain or lose followers. Followers are the currency of the game and are used to pay fees and taxes. The player with the most number of Book Cards and Followers wins! Post a TikTok: TikTok was chosen as an element in this game because it has become an increasingly popular platform for promoting and discovering new authors and books through #booktok. Books that gain traction on BookTok often see a surge in sales, leading to publishers playing closer attention to this emerging trend. BookTok has also provided a platform for under-represented authors and books to gain visibility and attention. It has become a powerful force in shaping the publishing industry and the way books are marketed and consumed.See More

SPH Radio Projects

I was a design intern who created ATL (Above the Line) and BTL (Below the Line) collaterals for this radio station at one of Singapore's top media companies. Working collaboratively with the marketing team, I ensured designs aligned with branding and messaging strategies. I produced graphics for a variety of media, including print and digital platforms. I contributed to the creation of marketing campaigns and promotional materials for the programs and events. I developed skills in design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite. Through this internship I gained hands-on experience working in a professional design environment. I designed print and social media ads, spotfiy icons, and google ads to name a few. See More

Would You Like A Side Of Plot With Your Tropes?

This was the design outcome inspired by my dissertation. They are interactive flip books that show the process of deconstruction and reconstruction of 4 of BookTok’s favourite stories. Each flip book has a standardised trope list on tracing paper that overlays the original story. The new story that adheres to the trope list is revealed on acetate that overlays both the original story and the trope list. The purpose of this outcome was to show the audience that if Tropes were the foundation of these popular stories, they would not have flowed as well as they did.See More

Due to fast fashion, clothes are thrown away faster leading to each person wasting atleast 35kg of textiles per year. This causes waste accumulation and pollution. I created card game sets for children as a design solution to this problem. This card game allows children to learn the alphabet through an app that interacts with the product using the Osmo System. We had to choose a brand that could sponsor this idea as part of the project, and I chose to use Fox Kids & Baby because they are a popular brand in Singapore and they are working towards being more sustainable and do already have a drop-off point for old clothes. To elevate the project, I chose to create a hypothetical collaboration between Fox Kids & Baby and Osmo to create this game. See More
