I learned how to be efficient in every movement I made, professionally interact with clients, and find a way to relax, stay calm, and think in difficult situations. High Meadow Farm Dec 2021 - May 2022 • 6 mosI woke up each morning at 7:15, brought in horses, washed buckets with soap and water. Then started grooming horses, tacked the up, did a flat work, jumping set, trot set, and hack. Then followed by 1-2 more of rides with aforementioned activities. Groomed horses until their coats were really shiny. Then turned out horses when the day was done with riding. Mucked stalls, cleaned water buckets, cleaned the wash stalls, blew the aisle. PM chores consisted of feeding, refilling soaps and suvch, making supplement bags, and other needed tasks around the barn. Then would feed, sometimes apply medications to legs, and blanket as needed. Also helped clean tack when needed. For fox hunting prep, would bring in horses, wash legs with soap and whitening shampoo for white part of legs, shampoo and condition tails, brush out manes. Then use a hot cloth in a bucket to take off excess hair and dirt, tack up, load into the trailer. On days I hunted, would come in full hunt attire and then would get on and hunt. Shows had similar cleaning procedures. Also scrubbed and got the barn completely spotless when we hosted an event for Aiken hounds hunt week.

I worked and took care of up to 5 horses a day. Additionally, I made posts and promoted horses I was working with and the farm was selling. Furthermore, I administered basic medical care and took a couple horses to their first shows while also networking with various industry professionals and Olympic riders who were also at these shows.
