UX/UI designer who solves problems and pushes pixels across mobile apps, the web, and design systems.
I'm UX designer who previously worked as a creative technologist and prototyper, before getting my MFA and digging into design. I'm great at systematizing design, working out the details with product and tech folks, and working with non-traditional interfaces like chat or real-time 3D.

Projects

Chase Digital Assistant Component Library

How can we streamline product design for a product that doesn’t fit the standard use cases of Chase’s Manhattan Design System? What I had found while working as a UX/UI designer on Chase’s chat application was that Chase’s design system, MDS only helped us so far. I abstracted the elements that made up the CDA and made them all reusable in a library, both for Figma power users like me and conversation designers who are less familiar with Figma, but want to visualize their flows better. This allowed our team to work at a higher level of abstraction, and faster, than using the "bare" design system elements that didn't extend to chat-specific experiences.See More

Natural Language Transaction Search

How can we turn some high level design thinking into something into a real product that works? When I started at Chase there had been a lot of vision work, but not much thought about how that vision translates into a buildable, functional "thing" in code. I spent the majority of my time at Chase working on translating a concept and requirements list into a usable, compelling product. My role was to work out the UX and UI details and work with the development team to get these ideas into production. How do we display results? How many results can we display? Are there technical issues with the data we need to sidestep with smart design? Can we extend this with functionality like filtering if the technology behind the “core experience” of natural language search is still a work in progress? I had to work through all these questions and many more, as the product was already in active development with a fifteen engineer offshore team when I started at Chase.See More

UX for Tiki Brand site redesign

How can we balance e-commerce and brand awareness under one roof? TIKI Brand torches contacted Cramer-Krasselt Milwaukee about doing a redesign of their brand website corresponding with their 2016 brand campaign. Brand site redesigns corresponding with larger campaign work are always exciting because there's a great opportunity to capture high quality assets. What made this project challenging, however, was attempting to solve several problems in one: brand awareness, allowing users to buy some products through their online store, while directing users to retailers for other products. We took a completely mobile-first, content-first on this website and it shows, from plentiful whitespace and easy-to-consume content, to simple straightforward interaction design.See More
