Liber Characterum

Liber Characterum is my capstone project for the Flatiron School Software Engineering bootcamp. It is a character creator and viewer for player characters in the Warhammer 40K: Black Crusade tabletop roleplaying game. Built in Python, the project uses a custom GUI to display character information that is saved in a JSON file. The main libraries utilized in the project are pandas, tkinter, and mergedeep. Transparenz

Transparenz is a healthcare procedure cost estimation tool built using Ruby on Rails and React. Users can either select a Common Procedure Terminology (CPT) code from a popular category, or input a CPT code for a specific procedure. Then, they select from hospitals that are nearby to the location they have provided, as well as input their insurance provider. Pricing information for that plan at the selected hospital is then displayed, alongside the cost of the same procedure at other nearby hospitals under the same insurance plan, as well as the prices under different insurance plans at the hospital the user selected. Currently, only New York Presbyterian Hospital’s pricing information is in the PostgreSQL database, but work is underway to add all hospitals in the New York City area to the database.
