Neel Revankar
Marketing major interested in marketing communications, digital marketing, and consumer psychology.
I am a college student majoring in Marketing at the Kelley School of Business. In high school, I was the President of my 230-member DECA chapter, which provided me with both strong leadership and communication skills. Some of my other strengths include the ability to easily collaborate and form connections with others as well as the ability to analyze data. I have been able to gain these skills from being a three-time qualifier for DECA's international conference within events that require collaboration with local companies (RWJ, L.L.Bean, REI, etc.), data analysis, as well as the development of marketing plans to improve essential aspects such as corporate social responsibility. Having founded a dance school entitled Revankar School of Dance, I have also gained valuable entrepreneurial experience in the process of starting and maintaining a small business. Furthermore, I have been able to become experienced in the use of marketing techniques to promote my business, such as social media marketing with platforms like Instagram. Currently, I continue to expand my functional knowledge within the marketing field by joining organizations such as the American Marketing Association (AMA). Having been selected as a member of their highly selective Case Team, we developed a Gen-Z focused marketing campaign in partnership with Amazon Prime Student that has led us to representing Indiana University in AMA's national inter-collegiate case competition, in which we placed 3rd out of over 100 other competing college teams.. Through this position, I am also gaining more experience in analyzing business data and developing detailed marketing plans for large firms, such as Amazon Prime for this year's competition. I also have placed 1st in the nation in the 2022 American Marketing Association's National Marketing Strategy Competition, which was held at the 2022 International Collegiate Conference and sponsored by Xfinity by Comcast. In regards to the future, I plan on pursuing a marketing internship within a firm in order to gain more professional knowledge and experience within the marketing field.
