The Fresh 15 | Body Positivity Campaign
These posts, Carousels, and Stories were part of a social media and public relations campaign aimed at breaking the stigma around body negativity on college campuses and "the freshman fifteen.” In our research, the team discovered how new (and made-up!) the concept of "the freshman fifteen" actually was and used our in-class training to fight body shaming. We wanted to replace it with "fresh" ideas surrounding the number 15, offering lists of 15 things to focus on in your first year of college that weren't weight-related. We developed content for our IG feed and Stories under three content pillars: affirmations, other things students can focus on, and sharing our research. This project was a staple series of the radio station, promoting their various themed specialty shows. These examples highlighted shows like "Sounds From the Pacific Ring of Fire," which spotlights Asian artists, and "Real Sad Lad Hours," which focuses on sad indie and emo music. The goal of these posts was to introduce the hosts of these shows. "Sad Lad" in particular had recently switched to new hosts, who needed to be introduced to the audience.
