Mulligan FundingDec 2018 - Present • 5 yrs 10 mosI continue to gain invaluable experience and learn many new technologies at Mulligan Funding - these included the python web frameworks Startlette and FastAPI, Kubernetes/Helm, Azure Cloud resources, React.js/Typescript, and a little bit of rust. We were a small team initially, but over the years we grew to a tech department of roughly fifty people.

Software Engineer

Ben, Inc.Nov 2017 - Dec 2018 • 1 yr 2 mos2017-2018, I worked at Ben, Inc. where we built a digital currency wallet similar to Coinbase. Our backend stack included Python/Flask, Celery, Pytest, Redis, Postgres, MongoDB, SQLAlchemy, and the AWS suite (originally deployed with EC2, but later transitioned to EKS). We were a close, efficient, and tight-knit team, but unfortunately we ran out of funding late 2018.

Demco Software SolutionsDec 2014 - Nov 2017 • 3 yrs2014-2017, I began working as a software engineer at Demco Software Solutions where we built, deployed, and maintained mobile apps for libraries and academic institutions. Here I built a strong foundation for backend development - SSH, VIM, AWS suite, docker, etc. Our back-end stack was written primarily in Python/Flask. Unfortunately, the team began falling apart in late 2017.

DigiDepot LLCApr 2009 - Dec 2014 • 5 yrs 9 mos2009-2014, I saw an opportunity in buying and selling used mobile phones and tablets; this is the year I started DigiDepot, LLC. While attending SDSU full-time, I designed and built a custom invoicing/mgmt system using Ruby on Rails, which led to a significant competitive advantage. By 2013, I had split the company with 2 partners as we soared to a height of $3.9 million in sales and 13 employees. The business climate rapidly changed in late 2014 as the large cell phone companies realized the opportunity and began quickly taking market share with their phone and tablet buyback programs. At the end of 2014, we made the smart decision to close our doors and split the remaining equity. Nonetheless, this was a transformative experience that taught me invaluable life/work lessons (interpersonal relationships, mentoring, leadership, stress management, problem solving, etc.).
