Aspiring Data Scientist and Researcher
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Science and Psychology at Smith College, I am set to graduate in 2025. My academic journey began at San Mateo High School, where I earned my diploma in 2020. I have gained diverse experience through various roles, including a Research Assistant at Smith College, where I conducted interviews and analyzed qualitative data for the Justice in Schools Project. As a self-employed Language Tutor, I have helped students improve their Mandarin and English skills through personalized online sessions. My internship at CDW involved product management, data analysis, and creating Power BI dashboards. At the Little Lab, I supported developmental psychology research by designing surveys and conducting literature reviews. Additionally, as a Data Science Intern at Wealth Enhancement Group, I utilized R and Excel for data analysis, providing insights into stock trends. My multidisciplinary background equips me with a robust skill set for tackling complex challenges.

Mental Health in Tech

This report analyzes data from the Kaggle Mental Health in Tech Survey to examine patterns of mental health treatment among technology industry employees in the United States. We investigate the influence of geographic location, age, awareness of workplace mental health resources, remote work, and perceived anonymity on the likelihood of seeking mental health treatment. Our findings suggest that these factors significantly impact mental health treatment rates, offering insights for organizations aiming to improve employee mental well-being in high-stress environments. This study identifies several key factors influencing mental health treatment-seeking behavior among tech professionals. Geographic location and availability of mental health benefits are strong drivers, with regions offering robust support showing higher treatment rates. The relationship between age and treatment-seeking behavior indicates that younger employees are more open to mental health care, suggesting an opportunity for targeted support for early-career professionals. The analysis of workplace anonymity reveals that employees are more likely to seek mental health treatment when they feel confident their privacy is protected. However, the fact that a majority of respondents are uncertain about their anonymity status suggests that companies must do more to communicate and reinforce confidentiality policies. This finding, alongside the insights on remote work and workplace resource awareness, emphasizes the need for a holistic mental health strategy that addresses both environmental factors and specific employee concerns.
