Designer of all things you can physically interact with, trained by old school craftsmen in making things by hand and new school digital fabricators.
I've been learning about design since high school, taking classes in product design and woodworking. My passion for building 3d things continued with me enrolling in the Industrial Design program at RISD. The Design fields I have the most experience in are furniture and footwear, but I've also done previous projects in Softgoods, apparel, personal electronics, steel fabrication, CNC machining, general woodworking, and wax casting.

Projects

X-Shoes

a practice in making a side-walled shoe by hand, I leaned on techniques I've used in the past and experimented with new ones, like using nylon fabric and using a sewing machine for more parts of construction (rather than sewing by hand). Inspired by shoes like the Lebron 4's and the OBOZ, this was a passion project I did in summer 2022. The main attraction is the zigzag line that goes across the shoe, with the heel panel and the white sidewall visualy directing the zigzag flow across the black leather upper.See More

U-Chair

This chair was an exercise in combining 2 very different design styles Brutalism & Memphis design Brutalism I used ubiquitous mass manufactured materials to construct the chair. no material is precious and the design is easily multiplied and manufactured for the masses Memphis The design only uses simple shapes (like something you would see on a mobile) and puts the form over the function, making the piece more sculptural than practical. The bronze ball is the centerpiece of this chair. Visually it holds the chair together. Both styles I researched are classified as post modern. The bronze ball represents the modernism style that both Brutalism and Memphis stemmed from.See More

Shaker Side Table

This table was made During my two week course at the Maine Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in the summer of 2021. The skirts are made from the same piece of curly maple wrapped around the table. Legs are carved walnut and the top is a beautiful piece of walnut. Handle is rosewood. Finished with oil-based polySee More
