An editor, a writer, and a learner.
I am a writer and editor with ~4 years of professional experience. I have worked in national newspapers and media companies in Malaysia as a writer. I worked with different clients on brainstorming and refining their academic and creative writing, so I can definitely adapt to different writing styles.

Projects

Do Not Go Gentle into the Good Night, Rage, Rage Against the Curation of Art: Waves the Poetry Room

This is a magazine/portfolio I made for an interactive art exhibition I co-organized. I wrote about my thought process behind and rationale for designing the Poetry Room—focusing on the personal, cultural, and political implications. To reflect the nature of the exhibition, I put my essay in a magazine layout I designed using Canva.See More

Facade of a Golden Age: Chen Tian Lai's Residence

When I was in Taipei, I wrote a short historical analysis of the processes of "glocalization" at Chen Tian Lai's Residence.

Algorithm and Simulation

This project highlights my ability to work with writing that is more on the technical side. Here, I applied my knowledge of algorithmic thinking and optimization to a "disease diagnosis" problem. I also made a numerical simulation for Covid-19 in India from March 2020 to March 2021. See More

Co-Creative and Managing Director at Fractal

Napkins MagazineSep 2022 - Nov 2022 • 3 mos5 friends and I organized an interactive art exhibition called Fractal. At Fractal, all visitors were the creators and curators. Fractal was designed to encourage participants to see value in their thoughts and translate them into an artistic creation—big or small. The main medium participants used was napkins. A napkin is an object one typically doesn't associate significant value to, just like our fleeting thoughts. However, when you captured those thoughts and gave them forms, they take a life and significance of their own—often to our surprise. Participants walked into different spaces in the building to create written and visual works. There were 7 spaces: - Entrance/Collaborative Digital Arts Room - Poetry Room - Engine (Kinetic Art) Room - Collage Room - Collaborative Diorama Installation - Synergy Arts Workshop (dancers, pianists, and painters worked together to create artworks) - Merch/Cocktail Room I was the main designer for Poetry Room and Synergy Arts Workshop. I also coordinated communication between Fractal Planning Team and Studio94 Team. Furthermore, I assisted with the marketing on Instagram and the outreach process by inviting visitors from outside of Minerva University. Fractal was held for 4 hours and attended by ~100 people.
