A national ice cream brand wanted to expand their flavor line, guided by consumer insights, cultural trends, and size-of-prize at retail. I conducted a quantitative survey of leading-edge consumers in addition to in-depth interviews of high-frequency ice cream consumers across the United States. Combined with national sales scanner data, I helped the client identify whitespace for product development in the ice cream category, and recommended flavor-driven SKUs for further development and test marketing.See More

Content & Digital Growth Strategy

A Detroit-based cannabis company with a CBD topicals and a publishing business sought a strategy to strengthen brand position and fuel growth for both parts of the business. Because both business units required repositioning to work in harmony, I conducted a quantitative study of cannabis consumers to test brand messaging and crafted a clear, refined brand identity. With new brand positioning in place, I recommended a columnist-driven content strategy to replace the ad-hoc publishing model the brand used at the time. The client accepted my recommendation, and I hired five columnists to address market-tested verticals across beauty, sex, cannabis education, and pop culture. Site visitation climbed 2X month-over-month for the three months following strategic implementation. A/B social advertising testing to promote the repositioned topicals business drove down cross-channel CAC by 60% in addition to email driving signups.See More
