Growing up with only men around, a sewing machine was a request my father didn't expect to hear. My passion for fashion, as they say, began at a young age, when my pasttimes included cutting up garments I got at the thrift store and sewing them into something new and cute that no one else in the 6th grade had. It allowed me to be creative, express myself, and most importantly, feel confident.
In 2018, I graduated high school knowing I wanted to study business and fashion. I found the perfect school, LIM College in New York City, where I obtained an Associate's degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management. While studying, I was able to gain knowledge through hands on experience - learning the Microsoft and Adobe suites, marketing, branding, retail, photoshoots, styling, customer service, and so much more that only New York has to offer.
After earning my Associate's Degree, I moved back home to Ohio. I attended The Ohio State University to complete my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, and graduated in 2023. While at Ohio State, I was involved with two on-campus organizations. Fashion Production Association, which gives students experience in cultivating a fashion show, from design to runway. I spent the first half of the year designing and creating my mini-collection, which was then featured in our spring fashion show the following semester. I worked on Scarlett Magazine as well, Ohio State's fashion magazine, where I assisted with styling photoshoots and graphic design.
I gained valuable knowledge during my time at tOSU, especially in finance, economics, data analytics, and business structuring, which were the most impactful to me.
In my free time, I love to sew, create fashion content for my social media pages, travel, and volunteer. I have worked with Dress For Success, a non-profit organization that assists low-income individuals applying for jobs and provides professional attire for their interviews.
After earning my degrees, I decided to take a few months off to celebrate my hard work and travel southeast Asia with only my two backpacks. It has been a fantastic experience so far learning about other cultures, adapting to new environment, and creating connections.
In the beginning of may I will be back in the states, I hope to begin my career in the fashion or interior design industries and will be on the lookout for opportunities for June 2024!
