Analyzing Factors Influencing Student Performance Using Regression in R

Utilized a dataset of 10,000 student records to evaluate academic performance through regression analysis. The study modeled the Performance Index—a composite measure of academic success—using five predictors: Hours Studied, Previous Scores, Extracurricular Activities, Sleep Hours, and Sample Question Papers Practiced. A comprehensive model selection process, including all-subsets regression, identified the full model as the best fit. This model achieved the lowest Mean Squared Error (MSE), highest adjusted R-squared (98.87%), and the most favorable AIC and BIC values.
