Dede Stewart is a digital marketing strategist, content writer, educator, and above all, a storyteller. Her passion for writing began at a young age, when she would scribble on anything she could find—often the dining table! Over time, this childhood love of storytelling evolved into a career dedicated to amplifying voices, especially those of Black women whose stories are often overlooked. In response to the events of 2020, Dede launched her blog, Discussions with Dede, as both an outlet and a platform for meaningful conversation. What started as a personal project quickly grew into a vibrant space for Black women to feel heard and seen. Now, as a digital marketing professional, Dede continues to leverage her skills to create spaces that uplift and empower, with the hope that her work will always provide representation, support, and visibility for Black women.

I ideated and launched “The Close Friends List”, which is a bi-weekly newsletter created to connect with our bookstore community in a personal and cozy way. Inspired by the “close friends” feature on Instagram, it’s designed to give subscribers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at what’s happening at Friends to Lovers Bookstore. From new book releases and upcoming events to staff picks and fun store updates, the newsletter reflects the bookstore’s warm, welcoming vibe. The goal is to make readers feel like they’re part of a close-knit group.See More
