Hello! I'm Jake, a UX Designer and recent graduate of the University of Michigan, searching for opportunities to work in the UX, UI, or Product Design space. UX allows me to work my "empathy muscle" to step outside of my own assumptions and truly understand the diverse range of users and needs for which we create products. BankBlackUSA Mobile App Prototype

As a part of my UX Design Capstone project, I had the pleasure of working with BankBlackUSA; a non-profit organization that curates a network of resources that furthers the financial literacy and wealth accrual of the Black community. We were tasked with redesigning their mobile app. Over the course of the project, my team and I: • Facilitated competitor analysis, surveys, and conducted 4 usability tests with BankBlackUSA stakeholders to define design requirements and iteratively test LoFi prototypes • Facilitated client meetings and deliverables in reports pertaining to: scoping, research, design, and evaluation • Delivered a high fidelity prototype with 4 distinct user flows, as well as hand-off recommendations to BankBlackUSA to secure funding and develop the appSee More

UX Research - City of AA's Vision Zero Initiative

Ann Arbor has a Vision Zero goal to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries resulting from traffic crashes by 2025. The Ann Arbor Moving Together Transportation Plan​ created a list of strategies and opportunities for improving the safety of Ann Arbor's streets, and proposed a data-driven approach to prioritizing street improvements in the interest of public safety and enhanced mobility for all. Over a four week research sprint, our team researched information needs for residents and visitors around mobility and safety in Ann Arbor, focusing specifically on: walking, biking, and transit. After conducting field research, interviews, and surveys, our team compiled and delivered 5 key opportunities to the city of Ann Arbor on how to better engage young adults in their Vision Zero initiative.See More
