Lead Product Designer | Early & Growth-Stage Startups
With 8 years of experience driving user-centred design across SaaS platforms and mobile apps, I combine user insights, cross-functional collaboration and data analytics to craft compelling user-centred solutions that drive business growth. I've worked with a broad range of clients from world-renowned organisations to early & growth-stage startups. These days, I specialise in working with founders to design products that inspire confidence among early adopters and investors by translating abstract ideas into products that are both user-friendly and impactful. My expertise extends to growth-stage startups, where I have designed and executed data-driven experiments that optimise user experiences and deliver measurable improvements in key business metrics.

Projects

Chromad

Chromad is a platform for creative professionals to rent and let workspaces globally, from boutique studios to high-level professional spaces. I worked with the founders to design and deliver an MVP within a 6 week timeframe. This required a balance between their ambitious vision and the practical constraints of first-time founders. The process began with a Brand DNA workshop to define Chromad’s identity. We clarified its vision, mission, and purpose, and focused on music professionals as the initial target market for the MVP. Three key personas were identified: Renters, Hosts, and Swappers. Chromad’s brand archetype was positioned between The Explorer and The Creator to reflect its adventurous and creative ethos, while its unique selling proposition highlighted creative-specific features to differentiate it from competitors. For the visual identity, I drew inspiration from Dieter Rams’ minimalist design principles and 1960s space-age aesthetics. I aimed to create a modern, functional interface that would resonate with busy creatives. Typography became a core design element, blending clean, legible fonts with bold, creative headings to convey professionalism and energy. Strategic pops of colour were used to guide attention and ensure clarity without overwhelming users. Wireframing was completed in one week using a design system that allowed for rapid prototyping and feedback. Key features included detailed filters tailored to music professionals, clear calls-to-action guiding users from search to booking, and local recommendations provided by hosts. These elements transformed the platform into more than just a booking tool, offering an engaging user experience.See More

PhantomBuster

PhantomBuster is a lead generation and outreach tool, offering automations for platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram. I joined a new squad tasked with improving how users connect to social networks via session cookies—a complex, essential system that bypasses traditional logins to avoid triggering anti-bot measures. To understand user pain points, I conducted an in-depth analysis of existing research and customer feedback. Migrating data from Notion to Dovetail allowed me to organise findings into three key themes: – Complex Onboarding: New users found session cookies confusing, requiring lengthy documentation that created friction during onboarding. – Need for Guardrails: Users wanted safeguards to optimise automations while staying compliant with platform limits and GDPR. – Skepticism Toward Outreach Tools: Some users avoided automations entirely, viewing them as spammy or non-compliant. I further analysed metrics in Amplitude, revealing: – Acquisition: Only 1.22% of free trial users converted to paid plans, with most using the tool for one-off data extractions. – Activation: 76.9% of users completed at least one Phantom, but 59.5% of errors were cookie-related. – Churn: While cookie issues weren’t a top driver of churn, conversion issues from free trial to paid plan were significant. I designed an identity management system to store and manage session cookies at an organisational level. Users could see which accounts were connected, when they were last used, and reuse cookies across Phantoms. I collaborated with the CTO, lead developer, and PM to explore technical scenarios and design the system. My designs for the account management dashboard and the "connect to" flow underwent multiple iterations, balancing technical constraints with user experience needs.See More

Cost Per Word (CPW) is a critical business metric derived from translators' hourly rates, time spent on corrections, and task word count. Reducing CPW without compromising quality was a key goal, as inefficiencies like redundant corrections and stylistic inconsistencies led to higher costs. Translation memories (TMs)—databases of previously translated text—were underutilized. Curated TMs (reviewed by linguists) and uncurated TMs (automatically stored after three uses) were not clearly differentiated, leading to inefficiencies. My design interventions focused on improving translator workflows and reducing CPW. TM text was highlighted in grey, with a padlock icon indicating curated (locked) or uncurated (editable) status. This visual cue directed translators’ attention to machine-translated text, marked in black, for focused corrections. Translators could report errors in curated TMs, allowing frequent reports to flag problematic entries for review and improvement. The interface emphasized areas requiring correction, helping translators work efficiently without distractions from TMs. The initial pilot for English-to-Japanese tasks, selected due to the availability of curated TMs and lack of gender agreement complexities, achieved a 15% CPW reduction. The scope expanded to non-gendered languages like English-to-Turkish, Korean, Mandarin, and Cantonese, covering 95% of task volume. For gendered languages, locking TMs risked gender or number agreement errors, while leaving them editable risked stylistic inconsistencies. The padlock icon was replaced with a shield, symbolizing confidence without restriction. Translators could edit all TMs, ensuring both flexibility and quality.See More

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Motors Australia sought to improve their public-facing website’s navigation and content organization to enhance user experience and support their goal of becoming one of Australia’s top three automotive brands. The redesign aimed to improve the relevance and accessibility of content, accommodate marketing campaigns, guide customers through their purchase or servicing journey, and deliver a cohesive brand experience. A content audit revealed issues with content hierarchy and navigation labels. Tree jack testing with 30 participants showed users struggled to find information, confirming the need for clearer organization. Further customer interviews highlighted the importance of vehicle categories, price, features, and customization options when searching for a new car. I reorganized website content into clearer categories, grouping similar information together and testing assumptions through open card sorting. Comparative research into competitors’ navigation helped refine labels to ensure familiarity for users. Two category labeling systems were tested: standard categories (e.g., SUV, sedan) and lifestyle categories (e.g., family, off-road). Participants preferred the standard approach, aligning with how they researched across brands. The vehicles menu was redesigned as the most complex navigation area. I replaced the cumbersome accordion-style mobile menu with a full-screen solution and created wireframes for both mobile and desktop versions. Testing high-fidelity wireframes revealed confusion between terms like “range” and “buy and discover,” prompting revisions to align navigation with users’ mental models. To address state-specific pricing nuances in Australia, I designed a global setting in the primary navigation where users could input their location and buyer type (private vs. business), eliminating the need for duplicated pages.See More
