Library Self-Checkout System

The Problem: Library Patrons are experiencing common pain points when using the current Library self-checkout system. The Solution: Design a simplified self-checkout interface with special focus put toward an intuitive user flow and engaging UI. My Library Self-Checkout design offers an easier and more satisfying way for users to check out and renew their library items. It eases confusion regarding certain prompts and error messages, while engaging Library patrons through the use of warm, friendly language and a pleasant color palette. Project Duration: April 15-19, 2024 My Role: UX/UI Designer creating an original library self-checkout system from conception to delivery. My Responsibilities: Conducting user interviews and competitive audits, creating personas, paper and digital wireframing, low- and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting and moderating usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.See More

Eat Smart App

The Problem: Restaurant-goers often have no way of knowing about every ingredient that goes into their food. This can be a safety issue for people with severe food allergies or diet restrictions. The Solution: Design an app that allows users to search menu items specific to their choice of restaurant. My Eat Smart App contains a searchable database of popular restaurants and a detailed, up-to-date list of the ingredients used in each menu item. It also provides nutrition information, and will be an invaluable tool for users with food allergies, diet restrictions, or product preferences. Project Duration: May 2023-August 2023 My Role: UX Designer designing an original restaurant item ingredient database app from conception to delivery. My Responsibilities: Conducting interviews, creating personas, paper and digital wireframing, low- and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting and moderating usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.See More

Dragontail App/Responsive Website

The Problem: Many species around the world are endangered, and conservationists sometimes have trouble getting the public involved with preservation projects. The Solution: Design an app and responsive website that allows users to report sightings of endangered species in detail. My Dragontail app and website provides a means to record visual, audio, and written sightings of endangered species, as well as articles that will inform the public on current conservation projects to get involved in. It will be an educational tool for users who wish to get involved in nature, and a great way to gather sighting information for conservationists. Project Duration: September 2023-October 2023 My Role: UX Designer designing an original conservationist app and responsive website from conception to delivery. My Responsibilities: Conducting interviews, creating personas, paper and digital wireframing, low- and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting and moderating usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.See More

Gina's Italian Cuisine Website

My first design client was the proud owner of an Italian cuisine business, as well as an independent music artist. She asked me to design her a simple website that showcased both sides of her professional work. Since my client needed to make sure certain elements and features were included in certain pages of her website, I first sketched out a couple of design options, then created a simple sitemap to organize my ideas. After receiving feedback on which design my client liked best, I began wireframing. I further iterated on the design we settled on in wireframes, to ensure that everything was well-organized and formatted. I also began playing around a bit with typography, but quickly discovered I should save that for the mockup itself. I created my mockups based on the existing color scheme and typography of my client’s existing brand and logo design. I also imported stock photos of her music and cuisine businesses to help the mockup feel as close to the final product as possible. My client was very satisfied and only asked for minor adjustments! I edited based on her requests and finalized the prototype.See More
