Man on the Street Reel

For EBRP’s Instagram, I created a man-on-the-street reel to make rare disease awareness fun, approachable, and memorable. The idea came to me as a way to take something that can feel heavy—like talking about a rare, life-threatening skin disease—and turn it into an interactive experience that gets people thinking and talking. I brainstormed a list of trivia questions, mixing fun facts about rare diseases with info about EB (like the fact that there are four main types and that EBRP is working to cure it by 2030). I even threw in a pop culture angle—did you know John Legend, Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, and Post Malone have all supported EBRP? Once I had the questions locked, I worked closely with EBRP to make sure everything fit their tone and mission. On filming day, I set up in an office environment to keep things casual and started asking people the questions on camera. Their responses were hilarious, insightful, and just really human, which is exactly what I was going for. To make it fun, we gave out prizes like stickers, pins, and hats for correct answers. People loved it. After filming, I edited the footage into a snappy, engaging reel using CapCut. It was a hit! The video reached a ton of new people, got great engagement, and helped raise awareness about EB in a way that felt fresh and different.
