FEKKAI, a luxury haircare brand founded by French celebrity hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai, prides itself on being highly sustainable. They focus on creating clean products with natural ingredients while maintaining exceptional effectiveness. FEKKAI approached Sellry (now Gammawaves), where I serve as the product design lead, to build a new website from scratch, completely replacing their previous one. Recognizing the brand's value and target audience, we aimed to design a website that reflects their commitment to sustainability while highlighting product effectiveness, packaging, and the natural ingredients used.See MoreTech Mahindra
Tech Mahindra, a massive IT company with over 146,000 employees globally, needed a modern travel and expense (T&E) system to replace their outdated one. The old system was slow, complex, and inaccessible to a diverse workforce. As the product designer, I tackled the challenge of creating a user-friendly and localized T&E system called TeXT. Since Tech Mahindra has a global workforce, user experience and localization were paramount. I started with "proto-personas" based on assumptions, then conducted user research with a large group to refine them. This research helped identify user needs, pain points, and success metrics. Using research data, I created a roadmap that prioritized features based on user needs and impact. This ensured the initial product launch addressed core functionalities while laying the groundwork for future improvements. The initial TeXT release received a 90% user approval rating. However, the team recognized room for improvement. We iteratively improved the system by separating admin and user experiences, centralizing navigation, and streamlining the approval process. These changes led to significant user satisfaction and reduced service desk complaints.See MoreSupergoop
Initially Supergoop reached out to us to carry out a general audit of their mobile site to figure out a bunch of issues they were facing, some of those were: Mobile responsiveness: While Supergoop! has a mobile-friendly website, the user experience was not seamless. I was tasked with auditing their mobile designs to discover the potential issues with navigation, layout, or functionality specifically on mobile devices. Cart abandonment: Updating the cart design implies potential issues with cart usability or clarity. Supergoop! was been seeing high cart abandonment rates due to confusing checkout flows, hidden costs, or lack of product information within the cart itself. Quick-add friction: The need to clean up the quick-add feature suggests it might have been buggy, slow, or difficult to use. This could be leading to frustration and missed sales opportunities. Account creation pain points: Creating a new user account system indicates potential problems with the existing system. Issues like lengthy registration processes, lack of social login options, or forgotten password complications could be deterring new users from signing up. Overall user experience: While these specific tasks address individual pain points, they might be symptoms of a broader UX issue. Supergoop! might have been experiencing low conversion rates, negative user reviews, or difficulty engaging users on the site, prompting them to seek a comprehensive UX review from a trusted partner like Gammawaves.See MoreAnother Tomorrow

They utilize a unique system of QR codes to provide transparent supply chain information. The company approached Gamma Waves (where I work as a subcontracted lead product designer) to create a detailed UX audit focused on improving consumer engagement. Yarn Bazaar is a new platform that aims to revolutionize the yarn industry in India. Recognizing the traditional method's inefficiency, Yarn Bazaar provides a transparent and digital marketplace for yarn buyers and sellers. This entrepreneur, along with CEO Pratik Gadia, faced the challenge of building a solution from scratch due to the lack of existing models. To tackle this, they created user personas and conducted multi-language interviews to understand the industry's pain points. Key findings included unreliable pricing, lack of transparency, and time-consuming workflows. This research resulted in a platform offering features like real-time price analysis, communication tools, and shipping solutions. The platform's success was evident with its Shark Tank India appearance and surge in users. Interestingly, the tool's impact expanded beyond the yarn industry, attracting interest from others. Here are some key learnings from this project: UX Interviews with Nuance: While valuable, user interviews can be subjective. Tailoring questions to specific user groups mitigates bias. Embrace Design Thinking: Don't be afraid to adapt to the problem. Everyday tools can inspire innovative solutions. Collaboration is Key: Users are the best source of insight.
