Product Designer

Lady Bandit StudiosOne of four designers at a boutique agency specializing in innovative and sustainable design solutions. Contributing to high-impact projects that blend creativity with a focus on people and the environment. Created a mobile & web design system from scratch with 50+ reusable components in Figma including developer annotations. Curated low and high-fidelity user flows for user onboarding, payment, and homescreen navigation for a music and video app. Designed and presented 3+ prototypes for music features, securing stakeholder approval and meeting user needs.

Program Director

Piʻikū Co.Piʻikū Co. (formerly the Circular Design Internship) recruits, trains, and deploys new local tech talent alongside experienced professionals to design and build technology projects for values-aligned organizations. Weʻre launching our third internship cohort this summer while building out a vision for a broader mission and impact, as we look to the larger Hawaiʻi tech ecosystem, more complex projects, and longer-term relationships with our participants and partners.

MooodlzLeveraged user-centered design principles in designing and prototyping responsive websites and mobile apps. Planned and executed user research and synthesized findings to inform personas, user stories, and wireframes. Redesigned critical workflows in a SaaS product, focusing on improving user onboarding and engagement. Developed branding assets, logo, style guide with typography, color, layout guides, and UI components for a new design system. Collaborated with Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility and facilitating a seamless handoff between designs and implementation. Improved a client's Google organic traffic by 181% through improved content strategy, intuitive user flows, and streamlined navigation. Created a sole proprietorship for art and design, creating digital illustrations using Procreate. Freelance and design original art products to sell online on Etsy leading to $2,000+ in revenue. Occasionally working on ad hoc projects such as animations, photography, and watercolor portraits. Mooodlz is an art business started by May Sermonia where she creates pet portraits, family portraits, greeting cards, and logos for pet businesses from her original artwork.
