Hands-on growth marketer for early-stage startups: customer research, paid social and lifecycle
I've managed £300k+ a month in paid media for Guide Dogs, Prostate Cancer UK and PDSA, and run campaigns for The Open and Leon. Now I work directly with early-stage startups and purpose-led founders. I start by finding out exactly why your customers buy, then plan and run the campaigns that bring more of them in: paid social, email and lifecycle, landing pages and conversion. I'm senior enough to own the strategy and hands-on enough to build and run it myself, so you get the plan and the work in one person. A few results from almost a decade across agencies, in-house teams and founders: - 1,000 leads in two days for Sue Ryder's grief cards launch, - £6 per lead on LinkedIn while our agency's Meta ads were costing £300+, and - 0 to 30 beta users for a B2B SaaS at a 9.4% website conversion rate.

Projects

Wakari: 30 beta sign-ups in 60 days for a new B2B SaaS

Wakari, a workplace accessibility platform, was launching with no brand awareness and a small budget. Before any tactics, we got clear on positioning, messaging and who to reach first, so Wakari showed up on the right channels from day one. I ran founder-led LinkedIn and email, rewrote the homepage, set up the analytics and secured 3 guest podcast episodes (830 monthly listeners). Result: 30 qualified beta sign-ups within 60 days and a 9.4% website conversion rate.See More

£6.73 per lead on LinkedIn: 88 leads in 2 weeks for a new private office

Spacemade had just opened a private office on Queen Anne Street in Marylebone, and its agency’s Meta ads were costing over £300 a lead. I set up LinkedIn lead generation in-house, aimed it at law firms, and refined the targeting, message and campaign structure to bring in high-intent prospects. £592 of spend brought in 88 leads in two weeks at £6.73 each, against a LinkedIn benchmark of £50–150. Every lead went to the sales team, and 3 viewings were booked.See More

Sue Ryder: 1,000 leads in 2 days for a grief cards launch

Sue Ryder, the UK palliative care and bereavement charity, was launching #GriefKind sympathy cards and needed awareness and demand fast. At Medialab, I ran the paid campaign on Pinterest and Facebook: set-up, targeting around loss and sympathy, and optimisation, using creative from the charity’s agency. It brought in 1,000 leads in the first two days, so many that the charity paused it, and brought the cost per acquisition down from a projected £25 to £5.17.See More
