Introducing the New Pangea: Commission-Free Talent Marketplace
Hi everyone, Adam here, co-founder of Pangea. I wanted to share with you some exciting updates that will make it even easier for clients and talent to connect and grow together.
When we started Pangea, our mission was to help startups hire college students. We knew there was an incredible pool of undiscovered talent out there, and during the pandemic, they flocked to our platform. We scaled from Brown University to more than 1,500 campuses in about 6 months
Fast forward a few years, and many of those students who signed up in the pandemic have graduated and gained experience working at various companies, from scrappy YC startups to large corporations like Raytheon, Amazon, and Meta.
We realized that our initial vision of Pangea as a "college-only" platform was no longer representative of the diverse community that had formed; and that our clients and talent were looking for more impactful relationships.
We're thrilled to announce that we've opened up Pangea to everyone who is looking to grow in their professional careers. Especially those looking for contracts that could grow into full-time opportunities if it’s a good fit.
At Pangea, we often like to start people out on contracts (instead of jumping directly to a full-time job offer); making it easy for us to see if it was a good fit before making a bigger commitment. This approach has allowed us to move fast, avoid over-hiring, and extend our runway, which is critical today more than ever.
We want to give other companies the same opportunity, and do it without charging the fees you see when working through a recruiter or staffing agency.
One of the most significant changes we've made is dropping all talent-side fees and commissions to 0%, making us a commission-free talent marketplace.
To ensure that we're connecting our talent with the best companies, we now verify companies before giving them access to the platform or allowing them to post jobs. This ensures that our talent is working with reputable, trustworthy companies that align with our values and mission.
On the flip side, we've made it easier for talent to find companies that match their career goals. Our platform now allows you to browse 1,000+ companies by industry, size, and funding, and connect with them via shareable profiles with a single click.
We believe that contract-to-hire is the future, and teams that leverage it will win. It allows talent a chance to prove themselves and is a more effective measure of someone than what school they went to or what's on their resume. We believe this helps create a more equal world and stronger teams.
